Position Overview

As a Transmission Technician at Fox Chevrolet, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicle transmissions to ensure customer satisfaction. Your work habits and ethics play a crucial role in delivering excellent service, and you will be expected to set personal goals and track your progress with support from the Service Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repair tasks efficiently following dealership and factory standards
  • Disassemble, diagnose, and repair vehicle transmissions accurately
  • Clean and inspect all transmission parts thoroughly
  • Provide labor and time estimates for additional repairs clearly
  • Communicate mechanical diagnoses and repair needs in a simple, understandable way to service advisors and customers
  • Continuously update technical knowledge through formal training sessions

  • Team Engagement and Problem-Solving: Monitor the status of assigned vehicles and remain open to feedback to keep projects on schedule. Support team members by helping troubleshoot and solve repair challenges.
  • Vehicle Repair: Perform high-quality repairs that meet or exceed Collision Center standards. Adhere to productivity goals and quality control processes to ensure minimal return rates.
  • Safety and Organization: Consistently use required safety equipment and follow proper repair procedures. Comply with hazardous waste disposal guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area by returning tools and materials to designated locations.

Work Environment

This role involves working in a collision repair center where you may be exposed to fumes, chemicals, dust, and noise. Protective equipment, including respirators, must be worn. Tasks include lifting, pushing, and extended periods of kneeling or bending.
